Junk removal in Somerville, on the shore of Lake Somerville
In Somerville, big items go to the city Collection Station, three days a week, with a permit. If that doesn't fit your week, ME3 Junk Solutions can haul it.
Somerville sits on the northeastern shore of Lake Somerville, 17 miles southeast of Caldwell. It's named for Albert Somerville, the first president of the Gulf, Colorado and Santa Fe Railway, and its first town lot sold in 1883. Lake Somerville State Park's Birch Creek and Nails Creek units are connected by a 13-mile trailway along the lake.
Somerville is a small town of about 1,300 people. BVR Waste & Recycling runs curbside trash and recycling, but brush and bulky items go through the city instead.
Somerville's Collection Station
The city's Collection Station is on FM 1361 (East 8th Street). It's open Mondays from 2 to 6 p.m. and Wednesdays and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. It takes unbagged brush, furniture and other oversized items, plus white goods, as long as refrigerant units are drained and tagged.
There are conditions. The station is for city residents, plus customers outside city limits who get water and trash service from the city. Permits are sold at City Hall, which is closed Saturdays, so a Saturday drop-off means buying the permit during the week. It doesn't take household garbage, tires or hazardous waste, except during an authorized clean-up event. The posted rules also note that taking items from a collection station or landfill is against state law.
When the station isn't an option
If you're not a city utility customer, the station isn't yours to use. And if the load is a fridge nobody has drained, a pile of tires or more than your truck can carry, it doesn't help much either. Outside town, Burleson County stations are limited to county residents and landowners with a vehicle sticker, and they refuse freon appliances and building materials.
That's where ME3 Junk Solutions comes in. Text photos, get a range, and the load goes in one trip. The Burleson County page lists the county stations, and nearby junk removal in Caldwell covers the county seat.
What the work looks like here
- Furniture and mattresses without the permit run
- No stop at City Hall and no Saturday morning window. The couch goes from the living room to the trailer.
- Brush and storm limbs
- After a storm, there's often more brush than one station trip can hold.
- Old appliances
- Fridges and freezers that would need draining and tagging before the station will take them.
Appliance removal in Somerville
Somerville's Collection Station takes refrigerant units only once they're drained and tagged. If you don't have a technician lined up, ME3 Junk Solutions can haul the fridge or freezer as is. Refrigerant disposal requirements can add cost, and you'll know before loading. See appliance removal.
Yard debris removal in Somerville
The station takes unbagged brush, but you still have to load it, haul it and come back for the next pile. For a cleared fence line or a downed tree, limbs, brush and landscape debris can go in one trailer load. See yard debris removal.
