Junk removal in Iola and the north end of Grimes County
Iola is a small city on FM 39 at the head of Ragan Creek. ME3 Junk Solutions hauls the big stuff the county site won't take.
Iola is on FM 39 in northwest Grimes County, east of Bryan–College Station across the Navasota River. It's a small city, with homes in town and pasture and pine country spreading out around it.
When a household outgrows a garage, inherits a houseful of furniture or loses a tree in a storm, Iola doesn't have many local options. ME3 Junk Solutions hauls it from wherever it sits on the property.
How Iola got its name
Iola is believed to be named for Edward Ariola, one of Stephen F. Austin's colonists, who settled nearby in 1836. Zion Methodist, its first church, went up in 1852 and doubled as the schoolhouse.
Two railroads built through in 1906 and 1907, and a new townsite was laid out along the tracks. Iola had about 500 people by 1936, settled near 300 after World War II, and saw oilfields open nearby in the 1970s and 1980s.
The Hillsboro Street site takes bags, and that's it
Grimes County runs a citizen collection site in Iola at 7505 Hillsboro Street. It takes bagged household trash only, paid per bag at the window, and boxes have to be broken down. Go by the hours the county currently posts.
Tires go somewhere else entirely: the county's Stoneham site near Navasota, for county residents with a recent utility bill, four per trip. Furniture, appliances, brush and building debris have no county drop-off at all, and the county's Environmental Services office doesn't run waste service.

Furniture removal in Iola
A bag-only county site means a recliner, mattress or dining set in Iola has to go somewhere else. ME3 Junk Solutions carries furniture out of the house, loads it and hauls it away, with donation or reuse when practical.
Storm limbs and brush around Iola
Grimes County was named in FEMA disaster DR-4935 for the severe storms, straight-line winds, tornadoes and flooding of July and August 2026. It was also in the 2021 winter storm and Hurricane Beryl declarations.
Once the chainsaw work is done, yard debris removal clears the limbs, brush and broken fencing so the place looks like itself again.
