Junk removal in Robertson County, from Hearne to Benchley

Robertson County lists no county collection stations. ME3 Junk Solutions covers Hearne, Benchley and the farm country around them.

Franklin is the county seat, near the middle of Robertson County. ME3 Junk Solutions works the southern end, closest to Bryan: junk removal in Hearne, where the rail lines and highways cross, and junk removal in Benchley on US 190.

Housing here runs older than in Brazos or Grimes, and a fair share of it is mobile homes. Older houses come with full attics, sheds that haven't been opened in years, and estates that have to be settled.

A county between two rivers

Robertson County covers 854 square miles, with the Brazos River on the west and the Navasota on the east. The Brazos Bottom, between the Brazos and Little Brazos, holds 150,000 acres of rich delta land. Hearne, in the southwest, calls itself the Crossroads of Texas because major rail lines and highways meet there.

Two old towns at the south end

Both places ME3 Junk Solutions covers here have long histories. The Handbook of Texas calls Benchley, first settled as Staggers Point by Irish immigrants around 1830, the first community in Robertson County. Hearne grew up around the Houston and Texas Central depot, and during World War II a prisoner-of-war camp just west of town held up to 8,000 German soldiers until it closed in 1946.

Old towns mean old houses and outbuildings. Whether it's one room of furniture or a whole farmhouse and its sheds, the job starts with photos or a walkthrough and a firm price.

No county drop-off sites listed

Unlike Brazos, Burleson and Grimes, Robertson County doesn't list any rural trash sites on its website. The one county rule on the books is a February 2024 ordinance barring solid waste disposal in parts of the county. If you're not sure whether your land falls under it, ask the county before you dump or bury anything.

For self-haul, the regional landfill is Twin Oaks in Anderson. Its website posts current hours, fees and accepted items, so read it before the long drive. The Brazos Valley disposal guide lists other options town by town.

Older housing and storm history

Census estimates put about 45% of Robertson County homes as built before 1980, the oldest housing of the four counties ME3 Junk Solutions serves. Nearly one home in five is a mobile home, and a little over a quarter of households rent. Put together, that means a lot of aging single-wides, rent houses between tenants and family homes that have been lived in for decades.

FEMA included the county in the February 2021 winter storm, the April–May 2024 severe storms and Hurricane Beryl in July 2024. Residents can bring household chemicals to BVSWMA's collection event. Robertson is also one of seven counties in the yearly Brazos Valley Community Clean-up Challenge.

TCEQ lists the next collection for Oct. 24, 2026, in College Station.
