Yard Debris Removal · College Station, TX
Brush and yard debris hauling for College Station yards
College Station picks up brush every week, within limits. When the pile is too big, too heavy or mixed with dirt and rock, ME3 Junk Solutions loads it and hauls it off.
Most yard work in College Station ends with a pile at the curb, and most of the time the city's brush crew takes it. That's the right call for a few bundles of trimmings. The trouble starts when the pile outgrows the rules: a whole fence line, a tree that came down in a storm, a bed you dug out down to the dirt.
That's the work we do. Send a photo of the pile and a sense of how far it is from where a trailer can park. You'll get a range, and you'll get one firm price before we load. Here's the full rundown of our yard debris removal service.
How College Station's brush pickup works
The city picks up brush every week, on the same weekly schedule as garbage and bulky items. Recycling runs every other week. Brush has to be at the curb in front of the home by 8 a.m. on collection day.
Keep it in its own pile. The crew won't pick up a pile that mixes brush with bulky items like an old patio chair or a busted grill. If you have both, make two piles.
The city's own pages disagree on brush length
This one catches people. College Station's online FAQ limits brush to 10 bags, bundles or cans. Bags have to be under 50 pounds, and limbs need to be tied in bundles no more than 5 feet long and no heavier than 50 pounds.
The city's printed Household Waste and Recycling Guide says something different. It says to cut brush to less than 8 feet and stack it within 3 feet of the curb.
Both are the city's own words, so we can't tell you which one the crew goes by on your street. Call the city or check its current pages before you cut and stack a big pile. If the answer means hours of sawing and bundling, that's a good time to text us instead.
What the curb crew can't take
College Station's curbside service can't take soil, sod, concrete, rock, tires, auto parts, paint, petroleum products or construction debris from a contractor. A lot of yard projects make exactly that kind of waste: sod scraped up for a new bed, the rock border you're replacing, a cracked concrete step, the old tires that held down a tarp.
Those are the jobs where we fit. Dirt, rock and concrete are dense, so they're quoted separately by weight and handling rather than by trailer space. Lighter debris like limbs, leaves and old boards is priced by the room it takes. See how pricing works.
Where city brush ends up
Brush the city collects goes to Twin Oaks, where it's shredded into compost and mulch that the public can buy. The landfill itself sits in Anderson, in Grimes County, not in Brazos County.
That's a good reason to keep paint cans and trash bags out of the brush pile. Clean brush has somewhere useful to go.
After a storm drops limbs all over the yard
Storms here don't wait for collection day. When Hurricane Beryl's remnants came through in July 2024, WTAW reported a 59 mph peak gust and 1.2 to 2.5 inches of rain in the College Station area, and almost 6,000 BTU customers lost power at some point. In February 2021, Brazos County was part of FEMA's winter storm declaration, and both Bryan and College Station suspended trash service before restarting brush and bulky pickup later that month.
After a storm, everybody's pile goes out the same week. If a big limb is blocking the driveway or the pile is far past the city's limits, text a photo. Our storm debris cleanup guide covers what to do first, and our page on junk removal in College Station covers the rest of what we haul.
When to skip the curb and call
Give us a call or text when any of these sound like your yard:
- The pile is bigger than the city's bag and bundle limits
- It's mixed: brush with old fencing, boards or other outdoor junk
- There are heavy limbs or rounds you can't lift (dirt, rock and sod are dense material, quoted separately by weight)
- A playset, a rotted fence or boards need to go with the brush
- You're getting a rental ready and the yard has to be clear before the next tenant. That pairs well with a move-out cleanout in College Station.

Questions
Yard debris removal in College Station: questions
- Is College Station brush limited to 5 feet or 8 feet for pickup?
- The city's own pages differ. The FAQ says bundles no more than 5 feet long, and the printed guide says cut to under 8 feet, so check with the city before you stack a big pile.
- Will College Station's brush crew take sod and soil from a yard debris cleanup?
- No. Soil, sod, concrete and rock are on the city's list of things curbside can't take. We haul them and quote them by weight, since they're dense.
- Can yard debris and bulky items share one pile on a College Station curb?
- No. The city won't pick up a pile that mixes brush with bulky items, so each needs its own pile.
- Where does College Station yard debris go after the city picks it up?
- City brush goes to Twin Oaks, where it's shredded into compost and mulch the public can buy.
